This is my first attempt at an art quilt. It is my interpretation of an Impressionist artist named Johan Jongkind and he was older than and taught Monet. It is his " View of Grenoble". It is created by rotary cutting up fabric into tiny " paint flecks" which are then layered and manipulated to create the scene. Then they are fused on and a layer of tulle is added and then machine quilted. The back is clean finished as well as the edges with decorative yarn.
I really enjoyed making this and getting familiar with the technique which I researched heavily on the net and found very little info about.
